Egypt - Cruise on the Nile

- First step: Luxor, visit of the Karnak temple-

Back to 2700 b.C.

The temple of karnak.... At 8.30 in the morning there's already terribly hot...So be careful not to get sunstroked (don't forget to bring a hat and a bottle of water in a thermos !)

In 50 a.C. the Christians found refuge in this temple, and for this reason some columns have been engraved with religious icons, or even cut in the shape of a cross..

Several pharaos took part in the building of this temple, as Hapchetsout who erected the obelisks. You can also see some statues with the effigy of Ramsès II.
