How to get the best references in Google
After many years i've been interesting to references and to Google, i noticed that there isn't a page which explain what you've to do to be well-referenced. The sites dedicated to Google and to references give just few information and with sparingly. That's why i decided to resume here the essential things
to be well-referenced.
To have a good reference, here're the most important steps you should follow :
- Choose well the words or keywords that are discussed from your site . If you need some help, you can use the the tools of Google adWords (Generator of keywords Google AdWords) and choose the tool of the keyords. This one will give you the words more searched by the Internet surfers in relation with the ones chose by the webmaster. You never know, the webmaster can have a different point of view than surfers, and he can ignore a word that is indeed very used.
- Bring out the words you have chosen.
- Make them appear within the name of the field or the under-field. If there're several words, insert between them a dash '-' so the search engines can recognize them. For example : voyages-celibataires.inooi.com is nearly the first site which appears when you search the words "travels" and "singles".
- Make them appear in the url (name of the folder and name of the file. Don't forget to insert between every word a dash '-' or also a comma (which is better cause it's compatible with all the engines. MSN doesn't like too much dashes).
- Make them appear in the title of the page.
- Don' forget to fill the keyword tag without making some duplicates. Otherwise, personally, i put as many words as the number of conjugations (not exceeding the limit). For example, Google makes the distinction between stamp and stamps, so you need to put both the words.
- To make them appear in the description tag. Google take it into account.
- The main words have to be put between tags h1, h2, ...h5
- Don't put more than 3 (and not 2 as i was used to think) parametres in the command line. In fact the best search engines accept maximum 2 parametres. If it's possible, use the url rewriting, which consists of adding some file management rules to the names of the pages. For example, the following url essai.php?a=1&b=2&c=23 will never be memorized in a search engine, while essai_1_2_23.php will. Then you just have to create the rules of the web serveur which will search the page with good parametres when it'll find that url.
- And to differentiate 2 pages which have a similar content, there's still PR or Page Rank. The level of this one is proportional to the number of pages which refers to ours, and also to their PR. The basic rules to calculate the PR are : our PR = 'PR of the biggest referent' - 1. And if our PR is very high (several hundreds), PR++.
PS : if your page is still bad placed, it's for the following reasons :
- it's recent,
- your priority is not to spend all your times working on it to obtain the highest PR,
- and more important, it's not that easy to get it. Even when we have the key, a door can be still hard to open. Here's the same. If you don't know anybody who has a site with a high PR, it will be difficile to get it by contacts. so the other option is to increase the number of links, and for that, you'll need some hundreds !!!!
-> So now i go back to my travel site, this will surely be more productive...
Otherwise, to go further, there're my reference sites with their last news :
