Phuket Town
To differentiate the city in the province from the homonymous island, Thaïs addes to Phuket the word "Town". Capital of the island,
Phuket Town, builded with a sino-portuguese style, doesn't look like the others tropical cities. Sometimes you have the impression to be in Malacca, in Penang or inMacao.

Even if normally in Thailand they drive on the left side, don't be surprised to see the motorbikes driving in all the directions and in both the sides of the road |

Scuba diving
In the open sea next to Phuket, Anemone, Reef, Ko Phi Phi, ko Rajah are all amazing places, frequented by a lot of divers. There's a zone where the leopard sharks, familiar and harmless, let the people get closer. The Similan islands, in the north-west of Phuket are classified as national parc. The relief
is surprising : the volcanic rock piles go into a labyrinth of neverending volumes. The high faces arecovered with soft corals and sea fans.
Also the Surin islands in the north of Similan are listed as a national parc. It's the best site to meet the whale shark. Some people told me you can moor to its tail for some moments.
Best diving period : from november to april
