Caranella Hotel Residence

at 10 minutes from the beach of Cala Rossa - Porto Vecchio - Corsica - France

A really familiar hotel familial, very comfortable, clean and pleasant.

I think it was the best place we could find. Even the welcome has been nice, and this happens so rarely in this region that you'll notice it.

Most of the rooms are spacious, the gardens are well-kept, the swimming pool is very pleasant, as also the tables and the furniture made of teak which are all around.

You have to know that during the off-season (we were there at the beginning of May), in Corsica. The bar was "open" just for breakfast. The one offered by the hotel was ok, it served international and french food and each person has one pastry included. Really correct.

It's really a pity thatmost of the bars and the restaurants are closed. The hotel was full, but outside all the shops and services were shut !!!

No places to go to drink a little aperitif or a fruit juice next to the swimming pool during the evening, before the sun goes down.This would have been really nice after a day passed on the beach, to relax a bit.

The restaurants were not working either: As everything was closed, i didn't even know where they were. But for sure they weren't within the hotel. This is also the reason why i knew the restaurant Fleur de Sel in front of the beach of Pinarello, because we leanred that in Cala Rossa nothing was opened only the night we arrived . So i had to find something to feed my family. And after several kilometres, i stumbled on the famousgastronomic restaurant Fleur de Sel where we found a very nice welcome, and food as well.

Let's go back speaking about the swimming pool:

It was the smallest of that complexe. We're out of luck because we were 3, one of which was a infant. Just to say it was really small..

A very beautiful South decoration, with a lot of colours. This reminds Mexico, with some finishings more.

The terrace is small as well.

The hotel is at about 10 minutes from the beach of Cala Rossa. Is also next to a pond or a humid area. I didn't really see it, but we could hear the frogs or the toads croaking all night long.

The hotel residence Caranella is equipped with WiFi for the Internet access. The connection is free, but the network area is voluntarily restricted to the swimming pool and the bar. It's a pity that you can't log in from the rooms. But it's not bad as it is.

* The beach

You have to know that the beach of cala rossa is at least at 10 minutes walking from the hotel. But once you're there, the sand and the colour of the sea will make you forget the fatigue of the walk. And if i understood well, on this beach there's the restaurant of the hotel. You should go there....possibly between the 1st of july and the 31st of august (which is the opening period)! The thing i really don't understand is that they even complain because there're no tourists during the off-season. Anyway, we really would have liked to try this restaurant, but we'll do it another time...
