Punta Cana, the real heaven for all the fine white sand lovers, and for all those who like light blue sea and sunny places...

The Barcelo Bavaro Beach hotel is right smack in the middle if the hotelier complex Barcelo de Bavaro. This hotel is in the centre of the complex and at the same time on the seaside, like the Barcelo Bavaro Caribe and the Barcelo Bavaro Palace. The Barcelo Bavaro Golf and the Barcelo Bavaro Casino don't have a direct access to the sea.

To start, here's the light blu of the beach in front of the hotel. This is the famous Bavaro beach, and it's several kilometres long. All along it there're many hotels. The Barcelo complexe is the eastest one and its beach should be around 1 or 2 kilometres long. At the hands of the sea, on the right you'll find all the quiet you are looking for, while on the left, in the direction to Bavaro city centre, the number of people increase progressively.

 

On the right, where the ambiance is more quiet, you can enjoy yourself taking pictures with the coconut trees. On this side, the beach shrinks. Don't worry: you won't have any problem to find an empty beach chair, and the only persons you'll see will be the strollers who brings the circulation back to their legs on the famous beach of Bavaro.

You can remark the wonderful blue of the sea and the dark patches which gives an impression of matter.

 

The Barcelo complex has 2 restaurants just in front of the beach, and so it's possible to have a dinner in front of the sea. Just remember that all the tables are taken between 12h30 and 2 p.m., of course. But if you arrive a moment before or after, you'll easily find a place.

 

The other restaurants

Like almost all the other restaurants of the hotel, this is very well-ventilated, and it's very pleasant to eat next to the garden.

The food is really various. In view of the size of the complex, most of the restaurants seem like our restaurant chaines, and nothing more. The buffets are well filled, and you always havethe possibility to make them prepare some small personalized dishes

Concerning the accomodations, we had the feeling that the hotel had been built 20 years before. As the holidays and the landscape here really worth, we won't spend more time talking about the rooms.

However, what we could remark in our room is: a safe (now free) which we never managed to open, the hinges of the bathroom that were completely rusty (it was impossibile to close the door), the same thing for the toilets, the door of a closet was completely blocked (we couldn't open it) and then a single neon light (it looked like an emergency one) in the bathroom. There was also another one but it broke the first night. Fortunateyl there was some light in the toilets to light the way.

The service : in spite of our remarks, nobody came to fix something except the night when we arrived (to repair the safe). We tried to sollicit the staff several times, but nothing happened.

After 3 days, we asked for a room with a sea view, and the propose us to move to another room. Finally we didn't take it because it was too far from the beach and also we didn't want to pack again the luggages !

The noise : there's always somebody making noise: the last ones to go to bed, the first ones who gets up, those who talk about 15 minutes just out of the rooms, the people who're searching for a friend and they knock at his door until he comes out. It's a bit annoying.. Finally, the hotel is very noisy. Don't forget to take the earplugs with you.

 

Before leaving, and if you don't have the urgence to move right at midday (is the time where you're supposed to leave the room in every hotel), you should know that this hotel offers to his customers some rooms to give you the possibility to have a shower or change your clothes at the last minute.

A curiosity: the responsable of our tour operator told us to ask for the room booked for switching, as if they had some rooms reserved only for us. In fact, you can't book one of these rooms. The hotel simply has 2 rooms which are always available for everybody.

 

From the airport :

One of the arrival point of this country is the airport of Punta Cana. It won't take much time to get out the airport, and it's a real pleasure. Moreover, this airport was built in the characteristic dominican style. It took us about 45 minutes to go out the airplane and take the bus to the hotel.

Then you will spend about 20 minutes in the bus to arrive to the Bavaro Beach,and 5 minutes more for those who stay in the Bias Bavaro.
